The Taraba State Chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has endorsed the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Governorship Candidate, Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi, popularly known as Danji SS, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The association expressed support for Danji SS, citing his integrity, people-centred leadership and concern for the welfare, security and future of the people.

MACBAN said its position reflects the need for leadership that prioritises the interests of ordinary citizens and promotes engagement, inclusion and service.

The association also commended Danji SS for reaching out to communities and listening to the concerns of Tarabans as part of his political engagement.

NEWSNEXUS ANALYSIS

The MACBAN endorsement adds another dimension to the ongoing grassroots political engagement surrounding Danji SS’s 2027 governorship campaign.

Danji SS has continued to position his campaign around community-level engagement, with outreach to different groups and communities across Taraba State. The support being publicly expressed by various grassroots constituencies is therefore becoming an important feature of his political activities.

For a politically diverse state such as Taraba, grassroots mobilisation involves reaching beyond traditional political structures to engage occupational groups, community associations, traditional institutions, youth, women and other organised constituencies.

The MACBAN position is significant in that it represents the publicly stated view of an organised association whose members are part of Taraba’s social and economic landscape. However, an endorsement by an association should be understood as the position of that organisation and should not automatically be interpreted as representing every individual member.

As the 2027 political season progresses, the extent to which candidates translate endorsements and community engagements into broader voter support will depend on continued mobilisation, policy messaging and engagement with citizens across the state.
