Taraba State has hosted an investment and technology forum aimed at exposing residents to emerging transportation technology and new opportunities for participation in global investment.
The event, tagged “Unlocking Taraba’s Future: From Potential to Prosperity,” was held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Yukuben Hotels, Jalingo, under the theme of Technology, Transportation, Investment and Ownership.
The programme was organised around Micron Global Transportation’s proposed transportation technology and its investment model, with participants encouraged to move beyond being consumers to becoming owners through shareholding and investment.
International Partners Address Participants Via Zoom
International partners who addressed participants via Zoom and responded to questions from those at the forum included Marksym Isyp, CEO of Macrom Global Company, and the founding Engineer, Rep. Anatoly Unitsky.
Some Taraba participants who had visited the technology site in Dubai also shared their experiences and bore witness to the transportation technology they saw during their visit.
Technology-driven transportation
Speaking during the event, the Taraba State Director and Consultant, Ishaku Man Bako, congratulated Tarabans for having the opportunity brought directly to the state.
Bako said residents had often missed investment opportunities in the past because they waited for such opportunities to come from Abuja or other major centres.
According to him, the current initiative provides Tarabans with an opportunity to make inquiries and participate without having to travel outside the state.
“You no longer have to wait for Abuja before you can participate. There is an outlet right here in Taraba where you can access and participate in this international transport technology,” he said.
He urged interested residents to make proper inquiries and take advantage of the opportunity while it remains available.
The National Director, Engr. Ferdinand Obuteh, who also addressed the gathering, described the technology being promoted as a new-generation transportation system designed to operate without conventional fuel, gas or diesel.
He said the system is fully automated and is intended to address three major challenges in transportation — speed, time and cost.
Obuteh explained that the technology could potentially enable passengers to travel between major destinations significantly faster than conventional road transportation, while remaining more affordable than air travel.
He also highlighted what he described as the potential energy benefits of the system, explaining that the technology is designed to generate and store electrical energy through the operation of the transportation system.
According to him, the project could therefore have implications beyond transportation, including increased power availability for communities along its routes.
Call for Nigerians to embrace ownership
A major focus of the presentation was the investment component of the initiative.
Obuteh said the promoters were encouraging Nigerians to participate as shareholders rather than remaining solely consumers of products and services developed elsewhere.
He disclosed that investment packages were available at different levels, including $250, $500 and $1,000 packages, with an option to spread payments over five months.
He explained that investors could participate according to their financial capacity, adding that returns, where applicable, would be determined by the number of shares held.
The National Director further claimed that the project already had investors across more than 200 countries and that hundreds of thousands of investors were involved globally.
He said the purpose of bringing the programme to Taraba was to educate residents about the investment opportunity and enable those who were interested to conduct further inquiries before making investment decisions.
Proposed expansion to Africa
Obuteh also spoke about the possibility of the technology being deployed in African countries, saying discussions were ongoing with the Ghanaian government.
He said Nigeria could also benefit if state or federal authorities decided to explore the technology for public transportation.
According to him, a state that becomes an early adopter could gain an advantage by becoming one of the first locations in Africa to deploy the system.
He also disclosed that the promoters had established operations in Nigeria, with offices in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, while arrangements were being made to establish a permanent office in Jalingo.
He said the proposed Jalingo office would provide a meeting point and support channel for existing and prospective investors in Taraba.
“From consumption to ownership”
A recurring message at the forum was the need for Nigerians to embrace investment and ownership.
Obuteh said the initiative was intended to contribute to a shift from what he described as Nigeria’s traditional culture of consumption to one of ownership.
He recalled that some Nigerians had missed opportunities to invest in major companies and emerging technologies at their early stages, stressing that early participation could potentially provide greater opportunities.
He, however, encouraged prospective investors to seek adequate information and understand the terms and conditions of any investment before committing their funds.
The organisers said the event was part of efforts to introduce Tarabans to emerging technologies and global investment opportunities while encouraging greater participation in wealth creation.
The programme attracted residents, prospective investors and stakeholders interested in transportation technology and investment.
