As Taraba invites serious investors to explore opportunities in critical minerals, gemstones, mineral processing, mining equipment and financing, the state positions itself as an emerging frontier for solid mineral investment.
What if one of Nigeria’s greatest untapped investment opportunities lies in a state where nature has been extraordinarily generous?
What if that opportunity is found in a state blessed with an exceptional concentration and diversity of natural resources—including critical minerals, precious stones, gemstones and other geological assets capable of supporting a new generation of industries?
Welcome to Taraba State.
Often described as “Nature’s Gift to the Nation,” Taraba is opening its doors to investors from Nigeria, Africa and the wider global investment community with a clear message:
Come. Explore. Invest. Build.
A MINERAL ENDOWMENT WAITING TO BE UNLOCKED
Taraba’s official mineral inventory is remarkably diverse, encompassing reported occurrences of strategic minerals such as lithium, tantalum, columbite, uranium and thorium, alongside gold, silver, palladium, bauxite, cassiterite, barite, zircon, rutile and an extensive range of gemstones.
That diversity places Taraba in an important conversation about the future of mineral development in Africa, particularly at a time when global demand for critical minerals is accelerating.
The minerals required for modern manufacturing, electronics, infrastructure, energy technologies and other emerging industries are becoming increasingly strategic. For countries and investors, securing reliable and diversified sources of these raw materials is becoming an increasingly important economic consideration.
For Taraba, however, the opportunity goes beyond what lies beneath the ground.
It is about what can be built around those resources.

THE TARABA SOLID MINERALS INVESTMENT ROUNDTABLE 2026
It is against this backdrop that the Taraba State Solid Minerals Investment Roundtable 2026 is being convened to connect the state’s mineral opportunities with serious investors, mining companies, financial institutions, technical partners and other stakeholders.
The two-day investment event is scheduled for 12–13 September 2026 at the TY Danjuma Banquet Hall, Government House, Jalingo, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
The roundtable is hosted by the Executive Governor of Taraba State, H.E. Dr. Agbu Kefas, with the participation of Dr. Oladele Alake, Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals Development.
The event provides a platform for investors and industry stakeholders to examine the opportunities available across Taraba’s solid minerals landscape and explore partnerships capable of turning mineral potential into productive investment.
The message from the state is direct:
Taraba is ready for serious investors.
OPPORTUNITIES BEYOND MINERAL EXTRACTION
The investment opportunities being highlighted include critical minerals, gemstones, mineral processing, mining equipment and financing, among others.
This is important because a successful mining industry requires far more than mineral deposits.
It requires capital for exploration and mine development, modern equipment, geological expertise, processing technology, infrastructure, logistics, financing, skilled manpower and markets.
A properly developed mining ecosystem can therefore create opportunities across an extensive value chain.
Exploration companies can discover and develop deposits.
Mining companies can undertake responsible extraction.
Processing companies can convert raw minerals into higher-value products.
Equipment suppliers can provide the machinery required to develop mines.
Financial institutions can structure funding.
Technology companies can provide modern solutions for exploration, extraction, processing and environmental management.
Local businesses can participate in supply chains.
And communities can benefit from employment, enterprise development and other economic opportunities.
FROM EXTRACTION TO VALUE ADDITION
For Taraba, perhaps the greatest opportunity lies in ensuring that its mineral resources become the foundation for value addition and industrial development, rather than simply being extracted and transported elsewhere.
Processing minerals closer to their source can create additional economic value while generating jobs, developing technical skills and stimulating supporting industries.
A mining project can create demand for roads, transportation, accommodation, engineering, security, telecommunications, banking, insurance, equipment maintenance and other services.
In this sense, solid minerals can become more than a source of government revenue.
They can become a catalyst for economic diversification and industrialisation.
A FRONTIER FOR INVESTORS
For investors, Taraba presents the opportunity to participate in an emerging mineral economy with considerable room for exploration, development and value creation.
The state’s proposition is not simply that it possesses mineral resources.
It is that those resources can provide the foundation for a broader investment ecosystem.
That ecosystem can attract exploration capital, mining expertise, processing technology, equipment manufacturers, financial institutions and strategic investors.
The opportunity is therefore potentially available at multiple points along the mineral value chain.
SERIOUS INVESTORS ARE INVITED
The Taraba State Solid Minerals Investment Roundtable is specifically seeking engagement with serious investors.
Prospective investors have been invited to submit their profiles ahead of the engagement.
This emphasis is significant.
Developing the state’s mineral potential will require investors with the financial resources, technical capacity, equipment, technology and long-term commitment necessary to undertake responsible exploration and development.
The roundtable therefore provides an opportunity for serious players to engage directly with the state and explore commercially viable opportunities.
RESPONSIBLE DEVELOPMENT
But mineral wealth alone does not guarantee prosperity.
Transforming natural resources into sustainable economic wealth requires responsible exploration, strong regulation, environmental protection, community participation, infrastructure, security, technology and long-term investment.
The ultimate objective should be to develop a mining industry that creates value while protecting the environment and ensuring that host communities are meaningful participants in the economic opportunities generated by mineral development.
For Taraba, the ambition is bigger than mining.
It is about building an economic ecosystem around mining.
TARABA’S MESSAGE TO THE WORLD
The Solid Minerals Investment Roundtable 2026 therefore represents more than another investment gathering.
It is an invitation.
An invitation for investors to come to Taraba, examine the opportunities, meet the people and institutions driving the state’s investment agenda, explore partnerships and participate in the development of one of Nigeria’s most promising mineral frontiers.
Come with capital.
Come with technology.
Come with equipment.
Come with expertise.
Come with financing.
Come with partnerships.
And, above all, come ready to build.
At a time when the world is searching for critical minerals and new investment frontiers, Taraba is placing its mineral potential and investment opportunities before the world.
The message is simple:
The opportunity is here.
The resources are here.
The potential is here.
Now, the next step is partnership.
TARABA IS OPEN FOR INVESTMENT.
TARABA IS READY FOR PARTNERSHIP.
TARABA IS READY TO WELCOME THE WORLD.
From the land of mountains, minerals and breathtaking natural beauty comes a message to investors everywhere:
TARABA IS NATURE’S GIFT TO THE NATION.
Come and discover the opportunity.
Come and explore.
Come and invest.
Come and build.
Come and be part of the future of Taraba’s solid minerals industry.
