Uzodimma, Akpabio, Buni, Abbas Head APC Campaign Council for Osun Governorship Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its National Campaign Council and several sub-committees to coordinate the party’s campaign ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.

According to a statement issued by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the council will be chaired by the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma.

The council’s co-chairmen are Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, will serve as Deputy Chairman, while Deputy President of the Senate Barau Jibrin has been appointed Secretary of the council.

The APC said the campaign council is made up of governors, members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), ministers, principal officers of the National Assembly, federal and state lawmakers, and other key stakeholders drawn from across the country to lead the party’s campaign in the Osun governorship election.

To ensure effective coordination of campaign activities, the party also constituted specialised sub-committees covering election planning and management, finance and resource mobilisation, grassroots engagement and mobilisation, logistics and campaign management, monitoring and compliance, protocol, media and publicity, security, youth mobilisation, women’s mobilisation, mobilisation of persons with disabilities, and secretariat functions.

The APC announced that the National Campaign Council and its sub-committees will be inaugurated on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre, Abuja, beginning at 12:00 noon.

The announcement was contained in a notice signed by the APC National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, and made public in a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, on July 26, 2026.
