Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has met with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, at the Nigerian Army Headquarters in Abuja to discuss measures aimed at strengthening security operations and civil-military cooperation in Taraba State.
The meeting, held on Thursday, focused on ongoing efforts to address security challenges across the state, enhance military presence and improve operational support for troops deployed in various parts of Taraba.
Governor Kefas, a retired Army Colonel, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Nigerian Army with the necessary logistics and welfare assistance to enable personnel effectively discharge their responsibilities.
He also stressed the importance of sustained collaboration between the state government and security agencies in maintaining peace, protecting lives and property, and creating a secure environment for residents and businesses across the state.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Shaibu, assured the governor of the Nigerian Army’s continued commitment to supporting civil authorities in maintaining peace and security in Taraba.
The two sides agreed to sustain their collaboration and strengthen civil-military relations as part of efforts to improve security outcomes across the state.
The meeting forms part of ongoing engagements between the Taraba State Government and security authorities aimed at enhancing coordinated responses to security concerns and promoting lasting peace across Taraba.
