The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC), Taraba Axis, has declared its support for the re-election of Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, in the 2027 governorship election.

The students’ group, led by its JCC Chairman, Comr. Bolyo Saleh, said its position was based on what it described as the Kefas administration’s interventions in education, youth development and security.

According to the group, the administration’s 50 per cent reduction in tuition fees has helped reduce the financial burden on students in state-owned tertiary institutions.

The students also cited free education initiatives, youth employment programmes and what they described as an improved security architecture that has provided students with a more conducive environment for learning.

The JCC Chairman said the group believes the policies and programmes of the administration should be sustained beyond 2027.

“This project is based on what His Excellency has done for the students’ community in Taraba State, by reducing tuition fees to 50 per cent. Because of that, we have no reason to complain than to vote His Excellency back come 2027 for the continuity of what he started.”

Comr. Saleh further declared that the student community in Taraba State stands firmly behind Governor Kefas.

“As the Joint Campus Council Chairman of Taraba State Axis, the students’ community of Taraba State is with His Excellency 100 per cent.”

The group then posed its central political question ahead of the 2027 election:

“IF NOT KEFAS, THEN WHO?”

The declaration adds the voice of the NANS JCC Taraba Axis to the growing political conversations surrounding the 2027 Taraba governorship election, with the students’ group making education, youth opportunities, security and continuity central to its position.
